How to register on eMAG Marketplace

STEP 1 — Initiating the registration request

Go here and fill in a few basic details:

  • The country where your company is registered
  • The tax identification code (CUI / CIF)
  • Company email address
  • Phone number
Documents to have on hand
  • ID card or passport of the company’s legal representative — the person who will sign the contract with eMAG
  • Articles of Association or Company Bylaws (updated version, if changes have been made to the company structure)
  • Certificate of registration from the Trade Register
  • VAT certificate, if the company is registered as a VAT payer
  • Bank statement showing the company name or tax code (CUI)
  • Utility bill or any document proving ownership / existence of the registered office or place of business

Depending on the specifics of your business, additional documents may be requested. Accepted formats are PNG, JPG, or PDF, with a maximum file size of 15 MB each.

STEP 2 — Company information
Company details

Fill in exactly as it appears on your company’s official documents:

What to fill in

Company name

Full name, exactly as on the official documents.

Company type

SRL, SA, SNC, SCS, SCA, SRL-D, PFA, II, IF or another type of legal entity.

Unique registration code

Your company’s CUI — pre-filled automatically from Step 1, but you can verify it.

Choose YES or NO depending on your tax status.

Delivery / returns address

Tick the box if you will ship and receive returns from the same address as the registered office.

Romanian manufacturer

Tick the box if you are a Romanian manufacturer — you can benefit from special conditions through the Open Romania program.

Business profile

Pick the category that best describes what you sell — a single option, the predominant one in your catalog:

  • Auto, Travel & Sport
  • Consumables (groceries, supermarket)
  • Electronics & IT
  • Fashion
  • Home, Garden & DIY (furniture, interior decor and equipment)
  • Media & Toys (hobby, toys and games)
Contact person

This is the person the eMAG team will reach out to with questions about the account, orders, or settings:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • If the contact person is also the legal representative, tick the corresponding option
Legal representative

The legal representative is the person who signs the official documents and represents the company in the contractual relationship with eMAG.

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Role in the company

When you are done, click Next step and move on to the documents section.

Important! The legal representative will need to go through an identity validation process. Check the instructions received by email.

STEP 3 — Documents and legal details
What documents to upload

Document

What to watch for

Bank statement

The company name or tax code (CUI) must be clearly visible. You can also use a screenshot from your banking app, as long as the company data is visible.

Articles of association

The updated version, if changes have been made to the company structure.

Certificate of registration

The certificate issued by the Trade Register.

Utility bill

Bill for electricity, gas or water, or any other document proving the office: loan-for-use contract, lease, title deed, anonymized legal-assistance contract.

Accepted file formats are PNG, JPG, or PDF, up to 15 MB each. Before uploading, check that the documents are legible and valid.

EU VAT numbers (optional)

If your company is registered with VAT numbers in other EU countries, you can add them here. For each number you’ll need:

  • The VAT number
  • The VAT payer certificate issued by the national tax authority

If you have more than one, use the + Add another VAT number button.

If your company is not registered with VAT numbers in other EU countries, select “No”.

Secondary headquarters in the EU (optional)

If your company has secondary entities in the EU, fill in for each one:

  • Country of the secondary entity
  • Tax identification code
  • Whether it’s a permanent establishment or not
  • Tax registration certificate issued by the national tax authority

Once you’ve uploaded everything, click Finalize. Your application will be sent to the eMAG team for review.

The eMAG team reviews your documents and, once approved, you can start listing your products.

How to prepare your account to start selling

Signing the legal documents

Immediately after validation, the eMAG Marketplace team guides you through signing:

  • The Terms & Conditions + Annexes
  • The GDPR agreement
  • The commission grid for the categories you have access to

Uploading your first products

Prepare each product’s documentation: description, specifications, EAN code, photos on a white background. For the product to be active on the site, you also need a price, stock, and active status. You can add products individually from the interface or in bulk via XLS import or API. You can find details about each option here.

Once your offers are listed and available for sale, you can manage them from the My Offers menu. Here you can update prices, stock, and withdraw them from sale. More details here.

How to deliver orders
Locker delivery (easybox / FANbox)

This is a service offered by eMAG to all customers on the platform, fully managed through eMAG Courier.

The service is available for all products that are eligible for locker delivery and have suitable dimensions to fit inside the locker drawers. If you are an international seller, you must provide a pickup point situated in Romania. In this case, we recommend you discuss with the courier companies that are managing deliveries for your business and agree the drop off point in the most convenient location in Romania. Once the parcels are in Romania, eMAG will take over the delivery to the locker and there will be no cost for you for delivery within the Romanian territory.

The cost of locker delivery within Romanian territory is ZERO, while for Cross-border locker deliveries (from Romania to Bulgaria and Hungary) it’s 5 RON.

Make sure you fill in the product volumetrics correctly so they can be delivered to a locker.

Home delivery

This is managed by you. If your headquarters is in Romania, you’ll need to work with one of the courier companies registered on the eMAG platform: Sameday, Fan Courier, Cargus or DPD. If you are an international seller, you must manage the delivery of goods with your chosen courier company.

Fulfilment by eMAG (FBE)

The recommended option if you want to scale fast and focus on your products rather than logistics: send your goods to the eMAG warehouse, and we take care of everything — receiving, storage, packaging, shipping, and returns. More details here.

Get familiar with the account health system
