In this tutorial you will find more info about the Top eMAG section
About the Top eMAG Section
The Top eMAG section shows the top 50 best-performing products sold across the entire eMAG RO platform (including both products sold directly by eMAG and those sold by all marketplace sellers). This page is specially designed to help you understand which products have high demand in the market, identify new opportunities for your business, and see the prices at which successful products are selling.
Important information:
- Data is updated once a day; prices and rankings reflect the situation at the time of the last update.
- The ranking includes the top 50 products according to the selected criteria.
- You can filter the ranking by supercategories to see performance in the segments that interest you.
How to use this page:
- Explore the 3 tabs to identify top-performing products from different perspectives (unit volume, sales value, popularity).
- Filter by the supercategories you operate in or want to enter to see which products dominate those segments.
- Compare the prices in the ranking with your own prices to assess competitiveness.
- Identify new products you could add to your portfolio if they have high demand and you don’t carry them yet.
Recommendations:
- Check the rankings weekly to stay on top of market trends and quickly identify products that are growing in popularity.
- If you see products from your categories in the ranking but you don’t carry them, consider adding them — demand is already proven.
TABS – SORTING CRITERIA
Best Sellers (units) – Products with the highest sales volume on eMAG, measured by the number of units (pieces) sold. The products in this ranking are those that sell in very large quantities. It is extremely useful for identifying products with high and steady demand in the market.
Best Sellers (sales value) – Products with the highest sales on eMAG, measured by total value (RON) including VAT.
Most Viewed – The most searched and viewed products on eMAG, regardless of whether they sell or not. Products in this ranking generate the most interest from customers and can indicate emerging trends or very popular products that attract attention. It is useful for identifying products with high potential, even if they are not yet selling in very large volumes.
TABLE COLUMNS
Average Selling Price (RON)
The average selling price is the average price including VAT at which this product was listed on eMAG by eMAG and all sellers during the selected period. It reflects the pricing strategy applied by all vendors of this product and price variations during the selected period. It does not represent the actual price paid by customers (which may include checkout discounts), but the average price at which the product was displayed for sale on the platform.
How it is calculated:
Average selling price = Average of distinct prices including VAT at which the product was listed on eMAG.
All unique prices including VAT at which the product was displayed by all vendors (eMAG + sellers) during the selected period are identified, then the arithmetic mean of these distinct values is calculated, regardless of frequency or how many sales they generated.
Example: If the product was listed on the platform as follows:
Distinct prices observed: 250 RON, 230 RON, 240 RON
Average price = (250 + 230 + 240) / 3 = 240 RON
Recommendations:
- You can use this price as a reference for your pricing strategy — if you want to enter the market with a similar product, this can be a relevant indicator.
- If the average price is much lower than the current price (see the next column “Current Buy Button Price”), it means the product was mostly sold with discounts/promotions; assess whether you can be profitable at this average price level.
- Track products where the average price is stable (close to the current price) versus those where it varies widely: products with stable pricing indicate steady demand at that level, while products with variable pricing may indicate a price war or seasonality.
Current Buy Button Price (RON)
The current Buy Button price represents the price of the offer that had the “Add to Cart” button at the time of the last data update (updated daily).
